Liquid ounces are a way to measure weight, volume, and even temperature.

Let’s start with a cup of water.

We’ll begin by measuring the height of the water.

Then we’ll pour the water into our glass.

The cup should overflow slightly as the water fills it.

This is the normal level of the water in the cup.

Now, we’ll use a scale to measure the water.

Using the cup, we’ll place the scale on top of the cup.

As the scale begins to weigh the water, it’ll read zero.

This is the amount of water that’s in the cup.

But now let’s see how the water changes when we pour it into a glass.

The water will fill the glass completely.

Since the water is lighter than the glass, the water will float on top.

When we remove the cup from the scale, the weight of the cup will be subtracted from the total weight of the glass and water.

The result is that the glass will now weigh less than the water.

Let’s try it again with a different cup.

We’ll use the same glass, but this time we’ll use a smaller cup.

This cup is half the size of the first cup.

When we pour the water into the glass, the water won’t overflow as much.

This is the normal level of the water in the cup.

Now, we’ll use a scale to measure the water.

Using the cup, we’ll place the scale on top of the cup.

As the scale begins to weigh the water, it’ll read zero.

This is the amount of water that’s in the cup.

But now let’s see how the water changes when we pour it into a glass.

The water will fill the glass completely.

Since the water is lighter than the glass, the water will sink below the surface of the glass.

When we remove the cup from the scale, the weight of the cup will be subtracted from the total weight of the glass and water.

The result is that the glass will now weigh more than the water.

Liquid ounces are an important unit of measurement for many industries.

They’re used to measure the weight of products, liquids, and even temperature.

So far, we’ve only discussed liquid ounces in relation to cups.

But liquid ounces can be used in other situations as well.

Let’s go back to the cup we used earlier.

If we had a liquid ounce measuring device, the liquid ounce would measure exactly half the volume of the cup.

The reason is that a liquid ounce is the amount of water needed to fill the cup to the normal level.

This means that a liquid ounce is the same as a liquid ounce when measured in a cup.

To convert liquid ounces to volume, multiply by 0.0625. For example, 10 fluid ounces = 1 cup and 20 fluid ounces = 2 cups.
